Hello ,
My friend bought a new 26 inch monitor for his Alienware and ASUS laptop and when he hooks up either of his laptops to the monitor he experiences a great FPS drop in games , mainly world of warcraft as he does not play much of anything else other then Counter Strike. Why would it be doing this? The ASUS has a NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT.
Any help would be appreciated , is there something he needs to do to make it work?
WoW is very poorly encoded and has bad framerates even on high end cards. Moving up from a laptop screen (ussually 1280x800 or at beast ussually only 1680x1050) to a 26" 1920x1200 monitor is a big difference and is much more demanding on the GPU.
