I'm currently folding w/ my 285 and just have my old 8800gts 512 sitting around. Can I fold with both because I heard a variety of things (kills ppds on main card, cant use card out same series etc).
Can I do this or no? Thanks.
seems crossfire will get folding support first, but I'm sure it's being worked on, but overall the scale would drop as Sli is inefficient, and doesn't use the full potential of each card such as 2 clients does...
Why are people posting guides? This has nothing to do with "multi GPU setup".
Installing multiple GPUs is easy, dude. That's not the issue here. The issue is conflict between the two architectures which causes errors and loss of work.
I've got two cards folding right now with no problem, but they are identical (GTX 285). I want to add a third card which is G92 (9800GT).
I guess I ponder why anyone would even want to fold in SLI or Crossfire. As with any other application used, the joined cards won't work at a 1:1 ratio, so two separate clients would undoubtedly be more efficient would they not?

Anyway, I'll try it out and report my findings.
The guide was posted to assist the OP in setting up multi GPU folding as he decided to try it and see what results he got.
Go back under your bridge now as I think some goats are coming by.
