The 3700+ San Diego' price at NewEgg has dropped for about the 4th day straight, and $20 in the last week. ($213 vs $233) Can't wait to see how cheap they are by the time I can afford one!

I know it makes me sick! I bought mine when it was $233 and the next day, BAM!! there it goes south. I hate it when they do that to me. LOL!
Not only are the prices dropping, but I hear the newer steppings are allowing higher overclocks ! Its becoming the low price high end performer. Maybe my grandma needs a new inexpensive rig I can build for her. lol
yup, some of the KAB3E steppings have been getting as much as 3 GHz... on air.

Look on the chip. It should have a 5-character combination (the stepping) and then 4 numbers (the date the chip was produced, ie, 0550 is the 50th week of 2005, I believe). If it's a KAB2E, you're in good shape, if it's a KAB3E, get ready for insanity.

Thank you my friend!!!!! I just took a look and it is a KAB2E. I wish there was a way to ask for a KAB3E when ordering. I wish it was a KAB3E that was sent to me from Newegg! O well. Is there another stepping other than KAB2E & KAB3E?

Anyone want to trade a KAB3E for a KAB2E LOL! just kidding.

The first 2 digits "05" mean it was manufactured in 2005.
The last 2 of the four digits "50" shows the week of the year it was manufactured. The following letters break down the day and wafer #'s.

Glad I could help. Looks like you'll have a hell of a system once you pop that sucker in. Let me know how your OC goes.
