3d code??

hey guys I just booted up my computer and I'm getting a 3d code what does that pertain to?

also im getting a f5 error code as well on my 780i ftw
i just got off the phone with evga. and i said to him that i uplugged every component out of my mobo execpt for the cpu/heatsink and he said that there might be something wrong with my q6600? im like it worked on the last rmaed board and why not this one? and he said that there might be bent pins and im like this is just insane. so im ready to go with a new mobo... im prolly not going back to evga.. suggestions will be taken

Check your motherboard manual for stop codes and what they pertain to. If you don't have a manual check online.

3D = Load alternate registers with CMOS values

You said that you got an F5 as well. How did you get to that F5 as that is near the end of POST?

How much memory do you have installed? Boot with just one.

at first i installed 2x1gb of my old corsair xms2, then i tried 1 and that didnt work

anyone else would like to give it a whirl? or is it time to rma and sell the board?
  • try all the different slots with each chip.
  • unplug the machine, pull the cmos battery, leave it unplug for 10-15 minutes, power cycle it [hit the power button a few time when it is unplugged]
  • pull everything out, including the board, double check your Stand offs, make sure their are no wires touching the board or its components
  • reseat the proc.
