we have very similar boards, so i am not sure if you have all these options, i have been unable to get my e7200 past 3.8ghz stable cause of the vdroop and i don't feel comfortable with taking it past the max vcore in bios to get a few extra hundred mhz out of it so here is what i have for my bios settings (btw, my chip came with a very low vid, stock 1.1, 3.4ghz i was able to do with 1.2volts) so here they are for 3.8ghz on mine (you might want to tweak it for whatever you are trying to reach):

cpu clock: 9
fine cpu clock ration: .5
cpu host controll: enabled
cpu frequency: 400 mhz
pci express frequency: 100 mhz
cia 2 disabled
performance enhance: standard
spd 2.0

VOLTAGES:
system voltage control: manual
pci-e overvolatage control: normal
fsb overvoltage control: +0.1
(G)MCH overvoltage control: +0.2
cpu voltage: 1.35250

in the bios settings where you overclock, i think it is called the MIT, don't remember, i just know on my bios it is the last choic on the left hand side colum, if you go all the way down where you adjust your cpu voltage, underneath it will tell your default cpu voltage is, mine says 1.1 and when i boot at stock, that is what core temp says it is.

ooo..mine default vcore 1.225v..seems quite high..
hve tweak my mobo accordng to ur stting except cpu freq at 369..only wnt OC to 3.5Ghz cause mine hsf still an avarge brand..idle 41C,load 63C
btw,vcore need set up to 1.4v to get stable 10min large data set OCCT test..
didnt run prime95 yet but i think usually past OCCT = past prime95
1.350v = failed
1.375v = failed
didnt try btween 1.375-1.4v..
cpuz vcore shown 1.344v..
is bios vcore 1.4v safe for 24/7 system???

I run at 1.39 to my E7200. Its a bit above Intels "specs". However those are recomended. Its usually safe @1.4 and no more I say.

it's called vdroop.

it could be your board that is preventing a higher overclock for you, but this is not always a good reason to spend gobs of money on a better board/cpu to get a few hundred megahertz.

you can stay at what you already have. it the luck of a draw for some, some get really god Oc'ers, others get mediocre cpu's that do moderate OC'ing. what is the revision/stepping you have?

mine is m0 stepping..
nah,quite satisfied w/ what i got now..apparently, able to max out every game i played, except for warhead, of course..at 1400x900 native res,not really asking for demanding OC,3.5Ghz is enough..i think,maybe my 88GT bottleneck the rig now..
1nfinity said running vcore 1.4v for 24/7 sytem is still safe, so, no problem then..

So you have your vCore set to 1.4v in the BIOS but when you're in windows, use CPU-Z to see what the actual vCore is for the CPU under load and after vDroop.

Some boards have really terrible vDroop. I've seen boards with .12v droop.

bios vcore = 1.4v
then, running OCCT test,
idle = 1.376v
load = 1.344v
how bad the vdroop??

That's really bad vDroop, that means that your CPU is only getting 1.34v when the magic starts. Go into your bios and see if you can find a feature called Load Line Calibration. It should smooth out your vDroop, with that feature my motherboard has zero vDroop.

I use OCCT for the most part. My system has always failed prime95 for some reason (even at stock)

I also find the burn test is a bit too extreme. It'll find some insane way to throw your CPU temps to levels I couldn't even imagine.

oo..i notice OCCT stated their cpu:linpack test same as IBT..prime need long time to determine system stability..so, use OCCT for quick stable OC test n prime for further stability test then..
btw,about Load Line Calibration option, does every mobo bios hve that opt??
i seems cant find that opt anywhere in my bios..

IMO, each serves a different purpose:

OCCT is very helpful to quickly determine stability
Memtest86+ is very good to isolate memory problems
Prime95 small FFT will help you identify CPU related errors
Prime95 blend, 6 to 12h will help you determine overall system stability

Intelburn, I don't use it. Instead, OCCT 3.0 has a test called Linpack which is the same test as INtelBurn. I use this Linpack test for a few minutes only to see how my cooling system is working. Running it 5 minutes is enough!

I consider my system stable if I can run 6h of Prime95 blend + 2h of OCCT + PCMark05 benchmark + at least one day of regular use

does every mobo hve that opt??
i cant really find it in my mobo bios..
