If i was to connect 2 power supplies with the use of the 4+4 plug on my board would they both run or would i need to use a bridging point on the 20+4 plug?

the green wire on the 24pin is what tells the PSU's to turn on.

lian li sells a cable to use two PSU's. it is like $15

umm, it also acts as a 12" extension for your 24pin. have you seen the price of those?

yes it is cheaper to make your own, but it is far from a rip off.

You want a rip off Ill make you one for $150.

15 bucks is actually a nice price considering that 24 pin extenders are usually not cheap.
Ok, so if i get the cable i could have 2 PSU's feeding the chip? Both in the 4+4 socket..
Yes But have you checked if both 4 pins fit together first.

Some are wide if not made to do 8 pin.
didn't realise it doubled as an extension, my bad
Why do you want to put 2 power supplies in there for are you going to run a TEC plate or something wouldnt it just be easier to get a slightly larger supply like a 600 Watt one?
It's more of just an experiment to see if i can score a power boost whilst sticking to a tight arse budget of - $0 is a good cost
