Hi

I have a couple of question on the performance of my new setup. On my old setup I had 2 x 74gb raptors 8mb cache version in a raid 0. I wanted to improve my performance to help in Photoshop CS2 and gaming. So I sold them and bought 4 x 36gb 16mb cache version in 64 chunk sizes. I would think moving from the 8mb cache version to the 16mb would be a increase in it self? So I did some benchmarks under Chozart HD bench test on this HD page at the top. And I feel my current setup is running as if it was only 2 in a raid 0? With my setup I should get better results? I am using sata II cables 3.0 setup? So as of now I am not very happy with my results. Anyone out there have some answers for me please let me here them. I need all the help I can get. I am using my Asus A8N32 mobo for the raid controller. Here are my results on Chozarts bench test: http://www.overclock.net/1303608-post14.html

Have you made sure that you have the latest RAID drivers in use ?

Also what size stripe did you use....This can affect performance alot. As you have different drives Cache wise it may be an idea to use a different strip size than your old setup.

Aren't all Raptors SATA 1, not SATA 2?
WTH are SATA 2 cables by the way?

But, like Enterprise said, what is your Striping size?

I could have picked Optimal setting, I just pick 64k bits. I waiting for my new 7900GTO cards so I can crank my system back up and see what I am using. Maybe I am using a old driver? I look into it soon.

I am unable to turn on my computer for now waiting for my 2 7900GTO cards. But I do not think I have the current raid driver in. I will try that and if that doesnt work I will reinstall windows at different chunk sizes and see what one will perform the best.. If this doesnt work I will break apart the quad HD setup and I am building a second Opt 165 setup and use the 2 HD there.
