okay
somebuddy wanna put together a $400 rig
tht has a dfi mobo
and ballastixs ram

not for gaming or anything just overclocking
no case or hs/f

I agree. And the 8600GT/8600GTS is actually an acceptable card if there is a need for light gaming, 3d, folding, backup card incase your main rig's dies, etc,.

my mate is maxing CoD-4 out on the DDR2 version.

You will not beable to buy a DFI board within your budget.

I would say get a Gigabyte or MSI motherboard and some GSkill Memory
