I'm wanting to upgrade GPU's but not if there's any point as i can only afford $150 towards the card, thinking it be better spent on second 320GB for RAID and better PSU...

AUD means Australian dollars and Newegg doesn't shipp internationally.

@OP: Not much around the $150 mark that would better what you have now. Best bet is to save a bit more ($65AUD) dosh and buy the 5770 of your choice for best bang for buck.

Take a look at this place, I shop there A+ Service at the Milton store.

True but figured card was the point and that card i can get for $195(MSI,1GB) over here... Cool thought, if i held out for a couple of months then yeah but buy then I could buy a 58** for the same money.. BUT i'm impatiant
Flux, mate, that's my favourite store: value for money plus 11km from home, though Gamedude is only a 20min detour on the way home from work.
if not using umart - look at www.staticice.com.au - its a nice search engine for aussie etailers

A note - a 5770 = HD4890 + DX11 + less heat + less power

flux - come join the aussie club

I would avoid gamedude for GPU's and pretty much everything else. They tend to not have what have advertised. Save the fuel and swing past umart.

Already a member, just not about the thread much. Spare time is lacking with two twin boys.

Thanks though mate.

An HD5770 would be a waste of money, crossfired HD4670 is faster then a HD4850 and a single HD5770 is about equal to a HD4870 and in some cases even slower. This would give you a very minimal increase making it not worth it. Save your money and buy a better card so you will actually see a difference.

Read some reviews, he is definitely wrong. HD4890 > HD5770, its not that close either.
