I wasn't satisfied with the accelero s1 r2 temps and I wasn't going to buy the turbo kit which has two measly looking fans. So I decided to add some fans that I had laying around in my closet and the result, well just take a look.

edit: I forgot to get pictures of the temps with just the Accelero, but I think it was somewhere around GPU 59 C and MEM 66 C IDLE and loads temps approached 80ish.
Pictures Galore!

congrats,mate....great results.....

but why the noticeable difference in memory temps??
lol that's lower than what i get on my 8800gt, guess turbo modules aint that good.
First let me say this: Nice mod

Two things:

Why did you place the fans so they'd pull air from the PCB -> Outward? Why not grab the cooler air from the case and force it down?

Get some compressed air

To be honest, my Duorb gets almost those same temps. Loads at about 49-50C no matter what I throw at it. I do have a 60mm rigged onto the VRMs, though. That seemed to help with overall temps.

I have no clue, my case is always open so I thought pulling the hot air out would be better. Do you think it would be better if I switched it around?

You will get lower memory and VRM temps if the fans are blowing toward the card. GPU temps probably won't see as much of a difference.
Works well the S1 with a 120mm (or two!) fan doesn't it

Just wish there was room in my case for the fans to come back now I have 2 8800GTs in SLI. They are running hotish but not too hot, better with the fans tho'

Nice mod
(that's Guinness today)

I just pulled these fans from my junk box. The Noctua's are very nice, I would go with them. I bet they move more air and are my quieter than the ones I have right now.

Yeah, I would flip those fans around to blow onto the card. Or better yet, just give the card to me...

Hi guys!

I've got the same card and a similar setup, only I just put one 120mm S-Flex on my Accelero S1 rev.2 cooler. Here are the results running ATiTool for 6 mins, and right afterward, all inside my new HAF 932:
