4850 X2 vs 5770

Hey guys, last post about cards for awhile (i hope haha)

I was reading Toms Hardware and was reading about both. And After reading the articles for awhile, I came to the conclusion, that 4850x2 is faster than the 5770, but doesn't support dx11. If I don't care about dx11, is the 4850 worth the extra 50 bucks?

Nope..

5770 uses less power and the 4850 will produce more heat..
But besides heat...and just as far as gaming goes, what gives me a better performance?

I'd still prefer 5770, dx11 support and not all games support crossfire.

To answer your question, the 4850 X2 is ~40% faster than the 5770. That being said, the 4850 X2 is getting "long in the tooth" ( a bit old), doesn't support DX11, and is 10-3/4" long. Both are good cards. Good luck with your decision.

If you want the performance now, the 4850x2 would be the thing to get. But you might want to go for a 4890 instead since they're extremely close (it would also use less power/ be cooler)
