As promised here are some comparisons of FPS with the 512MB and 1GB versions of the 4870, The test setup is a Q6600 oced to 3.6GHz on a DFI DK P35-T2RS with 8GB of G.Skill PC-8500 clocked at 800MHz at 4-4-4-12 timings. The 512MB is clocked at 800/1100 and the 1GB is clocked at 750/900

i thought i would be able to clock the 1GB card to the same but wasnt able to until some posts a bios that will allow more than 790/1100 stable and i had already packed away the 512MB card but if it bothers everyone else il reinstall the 512MB and run it at 750/900

Nah, it's fine the way it is... Just redo the 1GB runs when you can match the 512mb's clock/mem speeds.

So the 512mb is higher clocked, but the 1GB still beats it? That's pretty nice, looks like a healthy increase too.

Since we have same CPU i was wondering can u do a test all high @ 1680*1050 just to see how much my 4850 sucks.

Are you trying to tell me that raising AA *boosts* the framerate on a 512Mb 4870??
Cause it sure doesn't for me
