Would i be able to take my XFX 4890 and my Msi 4850 and put them in crossfire mode and not get any issues?

Yes it would work but I don't believe it will give a hugely significant increase in performance. It would be more powerful than a stock 4890 though

This

YOu could sell your 4890 and get a 4850. Same performance (In CF) and you have some money in pocket

Last time I checked ATI doesn't downclock cards to match. The 4890 would run like a 4890 and the 4850 like a 4850. Go ahead and do it, you'll see a jump for sure.

This is what I seem to remember as well.

although the memory capacity would match the card with less. Like if the 4850 had only 512 and the 4890 had 1GB then the 4890 would lose 512 to match the 4850.

Only the memory should take the hit performance wise...But overall you will see BETTER performance than two 4850s in crossfire...
