4x WD 1TB RAID5?

I have a PERC 6i coming. Will there be any issue with installing Vista on that size partition?

There isn't going to be any limitation by Windows? I thought you could only have a 2TB partition for the boot partition.
no there isn't. But i would go with the 64 bit version of windows. but i think you are ok

i actually believe thats true. you have to make it GPT or something weird.. and unsure if the boot partition can be GPT..

Nope, should be 3 GBs.

And yes, Windows bootable partitions can't be bigger than 2TB. But all you need to do is make a smaller partition on those drives of like 50GB or so (unless this is an everyday rig and not a server)....but in both cases I would just suggest getting another smaller drive and leave the TBs to storage only.

So I should go with 4x640GB?
Or 3x1TB. What would be faster?

i would go with
3 drives in raid 5 for OS
then 3x1tb in raid 5 for storage

that is of course if $$ isn't a huge factor.
