hey guys i have a simple 5.1 set connected to my onboard "8 channel HD realtek" chip
when i had XP i set the sound to 5.1 and it worked fine,
now i have vista and eventhough i set to 5.1 is control pannel and in the software that came with the drivers its still on 2.1 (without subwoofer)
in some games like in COH where u can manually set to 5.1 it works fine but nowhere else.
what gives?

I had the same problem with my creative in vista. They didn't let you choose stereo surround for upmixing 2.0 into 5.1.

oh no bruddah....
CMSS3D is not the best method to get 5.1 in mp3s....
use foobar for mp3 playback and set em up...
and i suggest u turn off CMSS3D for all application.

read this thread for a guide.

thx me later if u've already tried it and loving it ever since.
