5.1 issues ???? (resolved !)

hey ! just got new sound card ! this one !

when testing with the windows 7 64 bit inbuilt tester i can get 5.1 but audio , games and videos i get only get 2.0 . does or can anye one help ???? be much appreciated ! ive had this issue before with an old comp. but never found out how to resolve it !

please help !

Are you using optical our analogue out? That card won't support 5.1 optical out in games due to not having Dolby Digital Live or DTS connect.

check in the game sound options to make sure its set to 5.1 audio it might only be set to 2.1 audio

its analogue ! wont play 5.1 through media player either not just in games, its all set up for wat we can and wen we test each speaker it makes the correct sound but when playing music or video it just acts like a 2.0 stereo not even 2.1 ?

there are 3 cables from the sound card to the speaker control unit ( dunno wat u call it ) green black and orange ! (hope this helps ! )

nah mate ! ive tried speaking to novatech they sent me something so ill try that when i get back from work !

manged to get issue fixed ! i had to download the driver from a specific site this one

http://www.cmedia.com.tw/drivers.html

and then download the drivers for the specific model of the card there are a few so either check in your device manager or the easiest way is to check your box . this should then resolve any issues ,

this did not solve mines tho so wat i done was unistalled all sound drivers restarted my computer and windows 7 then done it automatically !

windows 7 64bit rules !!!!!!!
