hey, I'm wondering how to get my 5.1 surround sound working on vlc. At the moment only my 2 front speakers are working. After some googling around it seems I need to have the option to select 5.1 in the audio > audio channels, but I don't have this option I only get "dolby surround". I've tried fiddling around in the options but can't get it to work.

windows 7 64bit and realtek hd sound.

Any solutions?

Thanks,
blue

I assume that with the player open and with a video with 5.1 enabled, you go to these settings in the player: "Audio"Audio device"5.1".

If this does not work, make recheck to be sure that you have 5.1 enabled from the dvd settings, or check the properties/details to be sure that it is 6 channel.

pen your "sound", you can just type it into your search bar. When opened, select the speakers or headset that you are using and on the lower left open the "configure" tab and be sure the speakers are set to 5.1

If this still does not work, see if your audio has an updated driver.
