Its now 2009 and I was wondering if anyone got their crap together and offer a nice 5" lcd monitor that works that you can put infront of your pc. Anyone have any idea?

I remember people used to use the playstation lcd panel but you would figure someone would get it done right in the 5 years since then.

I did see that I plan on buying a PC-A77B Lian Li case from them and driving to pick it up. I was looking for another solution also since this one has a weird resolution 960x234. I rephrase my original question anyone know of a 6.4" lcd with regular 640x480 resolution? I was hoping to get a plain module and mount it myself but those displays do look nice especially since I have a black aluminum case.

These were real popular back when there was a psone lcd mod and I just figured by now and since I am making a new pc I would see how its advanced. Not too many people doing this still it seems.

I think I may have to delve into the mp3 car forums etc. where those guys have been making baby computers for a while now.

I have a laser engraver-cutter that cuts anything upto 1/4" acrylic so I can make a custom mount no problem.

I am actually on the virge of figuring out how to wire some lcd tft modules that are on ebay. They retail for almost 300$ on several stores mouser etc. but are on sale for 25$

they are full modules not just screens the only thing right now is I have basically 40 wires coming out of the connector. I am not sure but I think I just connect the right ones to a rgb connector and its good to go. I am waiting to talk to some tech guys on monday I will keep you all posted. If I can get a display for 25$ and buy a few cheap parts for it and its up and running people may be interested.

I am looking at this display LQ050Q5DR01

I am trying to get a panel or open frame lcd like this one not a ready made external type lcd.
What do you guys do with 5" monitors??? Strictly for MSN? Mini pr0n?
bobfig that is pretty neat I was hoping to do without the soldering and diodes and resistors since the module I am looking at is a module that means its all enclosed. I also know the part and model number of the inverter for the displays too so power and light, brioghtness shouldnt be a problem. I am however interested in the y and c connection deal. I have 40 wires all kinds of rgb this and that I am hoping its ready to go rigth to rgb, s-video, or yellow av cable. I was busy today and didnt call the tech guy.

I want one for stats or playing arcade games like street fighter etc.

What I really want to do is make a portable computer like teh mp3 car audio forums but make it like a little laptop and watch avi movies so I dont have to convert them to dvd for everyone.
