Hey I have the option to sink some more into another bank of 512 to bring my system up to 1g. I'm using the ASUS K8v deluxe. I've heard that the cache acts as a bottleneck between the CPU and the RAM. I've heard that anything over 512 really is not going to give me much of a performance boost.

Is it worth it?

512 is ok in most boxes w/most games. Some games now require a total of 512 Megs of memory. So if you have 128meg vid card you will need an APG Aperiture setting of 512 to meet or excede the 512meg vid allocation. If your vid card has 256megs of RAm you only need a 256 meg AGP Aperature and the remaining 256 will run your sys fine.

2x512 DCDDR for a slight performance over the 2x512 non DC and the single 1g stick

Some good info on DDR memory.
