55nm vs. dual slot cooler

For a 9800GT, which would run cooler? if you need specific models, these are the 2 I'm looking at.

Also, is there much of a noise difference for the dual slot cooler, and is there a noticeable power consumption difference for the 55nm shrink?

9800GT are all 55nm. Go for the dual slot 9800GT
If you are going to have two of them next to each other then go with the single slot but if you only have one then go for the dual.

No, they aren't. There are still quite a few 9800GTs, which are just flashed 8800GTs.

You want the double slotted cooler. It will expel heat out of your case, instead of dumping more into it. I had a single slot cooler on my 8800GT (which is the same thing but 65nm) and I went for the AKIMBO cooler, which helped my temps all round, CPU went down a little too.

No
There's still a large amount of reflashed 8800GT's

Anyway, grab the 55nm one

+1 for the dual slot card.

Wrong, most are just 8800GT's flashed to the 9800GT BIOS. If it doesn't say it is 55nm, then it most likely isn't.

It would be better to get the 55nm as it can OC higher and it runs cooler.

You can check out the Durob which I currently have placed on my 9800GT, works amazing, 51C temps at Idle 70C at load.

Remount the cooler, your temps are too high. They should either be on par or lower than the 8800GT's temps, depending if the card is 55nm or not. I had 2x 8800GT's in SLi with DuOrbs. On average I had a 43c idle and 55c max load.

It actually doesn't sound like it's working too good. Those temps are pretty high.

My 3 duorbs idle at 40 and load at 57, and they are right over each other.

And the single slot one has a lifetime warranty while the dual slot is only 1+1 (Product code ends in "TR")

Really? I never noticed that about the TR codes, thanks for telling me.

Should I just go with the single slot 9800GT then, I already have a 8800GT single slot and I'm happy with that, but I don't know how much of a difference in temps it makes.
