i'm thinking of making 9600gt as a dedicated physx to 560 ti sli setup. will the 9600gt bottleneck my sli?
how would it bottleneck them? wouldnt the 9600gt be taking away some of the load for physx from the 560?Originally Posted by Timlander;13004324
Yea I would stick with the 560's for physx. I know that 9600 would bottleneck them.
The PhysX processing power of the 9800 GT is inferior to the PhysX processing power of the 560, so it would be a bottleneck. The 560 can do everything faster by itself rather than being forced to use the 9600 GT. It would be like physically modifying the 560 so that you end up noticeably reducing its PhysX processing power.Originally Posted by labbu63;13004394

Exactly. By enabling the 9600 for physx you aren't simply putting some of the load on the 9600, you are forcing the 9600 to calculate ALL the physx. And a 9600 for dedicated physx will get you about 30 fps in metro I can tell you that from experience. I am sure its much worse in mafiaII. So stick with the much more powerful 560's.Originally Posted by TwoCables;13004422

Because that would be like hiring two experienced workers to build your house while telling your grandma to mix cement for them.Originally Posted by labbu63;13004394
