I just picked one up to replace my aging 9800GTX+, after reading the review on Hardware Canucks about how strong an overclocker it can be. I'll post here some results I can grab. Post bench requests here

I'll start with Riva, unless anyone specifically wants to see if theres any stability differences with Precision or something.

EDIT 2 / NEW ! UPDATES:

I managed to get some free time tonight, only enough to get done with 3D Mark 11, but I think it gives a pretty good indication of how this card can manage.

Setup
GPU: EVGA GTX 460 SE - Fan speed manually set to 100 during all benches.
CPU: i7 860 @ 4.0GHz
Cooling: Corsair H50 3000RPM Scythe's Push / Pull
Mem: 4GB GSkill ECO 1530 @ 1.34v
Mobo: ASUS Maximus III Gene
PSU: OCZ StealthXStream 550 Watt [He's a trooper, and my next upgrade]
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1.5 TB 7200RPM
Case: NZXT Vulcan, 2 120mm exhaust, H50 Rad mounted in front on intake. [Note, the side of the Vulcan is pretty much all grille, which no doubt plays a role in my temps.]
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64

Stock System:

Overclock Results:
I managed to pull some impressive speeds IMO, although my memory didn't reach the speed achieved at Hardware Canucks, yet my core speed topped theirs. See for yourself;

Pretty impressive. A core overclock of +217Mhz, Memory overclock of +138MHz[Will still tweak], and a shader overclock of +434MHz!! Lets see how these translate into scores;

3D MARK 11' STOCK SCORES: [Max Temp 51c]

3D MARK 11' OVERCLOCKED SCORES: [Max Temp 57c]

That's all I have for today. Tomorrow will bring more temperature details as well as some more benches. Stay tuned!

EDIT 3 / NEW ! UPDATES:

Uniengine Heaven Benchmark: DX 11 Extreme Preset

We see a score increase of +153 points with my highest stable overclock. (Same speeds as 3D Mark 11). That's an increase of ~21%. Without any voltage increases.

I'll keep running other tests for most of the day and posting them here.

EDIT 4 / NEW ! UPDATES:

Crysis scores added! See stock score below;
DX 10
1680x1050
64 Bit
High Everything, 4x AA

STOCKCRYSISSCORE.PNG

Min FPS of 22.7, Max of 44.17, average 39.00.

Overclocked Scores;

CRYSIS%20OC%20SCORES.PNG

Min FPS of 26.61, Max 56.42, average 49. An increase of ~11%

I had a request for 3D Mark 06 because of the relativity to other systems it's a great comparison tool. So here it is;

STOCK SCORE:

3d06stock.PNG

OVERCLOCKED SCORE:

3d06oc.PNG

Overall a difference not as big as some other applications, maybe a showing of 3D 06's age, nonetheless still a decent margin of improvement.

Also if you could, run FurMark or OCCT GPU and record the temperature levels?

Okay I'll have to buy the "Basic" edition of it for you guys for vantage

They are pretty cool, I'm not sure what exactly but chillier than the average room temperature atm. Also take into consideration my case has a side grille as previously mentioned as well as two 120mm exhause top fans that cause a negative pressure inside bringing fresh air in from the grille.

ah, okay do you think I have a bottle neck with my cpu? I know its hexacore but isn't core speed most important in feeding the gpu information?

No, well, highly unlikely. Are you running stock speeds?

eh, 460SE should come out on top still. 5770 has been out for much longer. I think this competes with the 5830 more.

Just curious but did you get this on ebay for $128? Some guy was selling them and I was thinking of grabbing one but got a gtx460 768 shortly after instead.

Seems like the GTX460SE/768/1gb are all extremely good overclockers from the reviews I've read. I hope I have the same luck when mine arrives.
Sub'd to this thread out of curiosity and + rep.

Oh and please do some benchmarks of BFBC2 if you have it.
If you have time or the desire maybe Crysis benchmark as well

Maybe I'll grab a 5830 and a regular 460 1GB then.

Naw, I got it from my local Tiger, $159CAD

From what I've seen in the "Post your heaven scores" thread, the 460 SE when OC'd draws almost identical scores to 768 and even Regular 1 GB models, even when they are OC'd.

Thx for the crysis scores. If you want to do another maybe 3dmark06 for fun ^.^

I like seeing 3dm06 results still cause I have so many results from back when it was still relevant.

3D Mark 06 is up now, difference isn't the same as the newer apps. It seems the older the program the smaller the margin of difference.

I have a 768MB version of the 460. I threw it in my main rig the other day (its normal life is folding for team 32 in my HTPC)
With it clocked at 900/1800/2000, fan speed set to 50%, the card is silent, and I must say, I was VERY impressed with its performance. Used all the same settings in games as my 480 and if you closed the side of my case, I honestly could not tell the difference between this and my OCd 480. I was playing BFBC2 and could not believe how smooth the gameplay was.
I may leave it in my main rig permanently just because it is so quiet, the only thing I can tell a difference in is benchmarks obviously, and my 480 makes much more ppd folding anyways.

at 16x10 resolution I get:
57fps in crysis - high settings, no AA
34fps crysis - very high settings, no aa

79fps in dirt 2, everything maxxed
34fps in unigine heaven with extreme tess. no aa
A vantage score of P18500
