Which out of the 5770 vs 5750 vs 4890 vs 4870 offers the best bang per buck? (I'm looking only at the 1GB versions)

(My board is capable of Crossfire, so that might be a future option.)

Out of them, the best for the money is the 4870.

The 4890 only offers a small boost over the 4870.
Depends where you are from
Here the 5770 is the same price as the 4870
4870 wins for bang for the buck, but if you can find a cheap enough 4890 I would suggest one over a 4870 simply due to overclocking headroom.
5770 can be overclocked to near 4890 performance, or so I've heard.
+ DX11, more mature drivers can improve performance.
Scales incredibly well in crossfire.

5770 ftw
If it were me, I'd choose the 4890 of those cards, it's the best card. But when it comes to best bang for the buck, the 4870 has to be the winner.

This. Since you said you might X-fire.

Go with the HD5770 for future CF. It will be better then HD5870.
Thanks for all the help - looks like I'll be getting a 5770 then.
