Hi there, i just recently purchased 2x 5770.. 1 is Sapphire vapor-x overclocked [860/1200] and the other is HIS [850/1200]

i did benchmarks (2003-Vantage) and it gave me great scores, greater than 5870.

BUT, when i overclocked those to [960/1300], the results are very disappointing.
Almost the same as the default clocks. I was thinking maybe throttling problem..
but during the benchmarks, i was getting below 70c for both cards..

any of you guys know what's wrong with it?

FYI,
i7 920 D0 - 4ghz
Antec TQP 1000W

Thanks

I have ordered two of these cards ( vapor x sapphire 4770 crossfire )

are these cards good?
I play at resolution 2048x1156, do you think they can handle games at max graphics? like bad company 2?

thx anway

it should be stable since i was monitoring it through msi afterburner while benchmarking it..
the core and memory clocks didn't change. and the benchmarks finished normally..

These cards start losing score at some point if you dont give them enough juice (voltage). They might be stable but get lower score. Try lowering the clocks a little or increasing the voltage a bit to see if this is true for you.

Well did you try it? I hate threads that just abruptly stop and dont have a satisfying conclusion.

I've had these cards for awhile now. Overclocking in CF with a small volt jump is not worth it. Here a link for a Vapor-x crossfire review http://www.overclockersclub.com/revi...verclock/6.htm

You should be able to OC both Vapor-X in CF 945/1345 without any increased volts and see a small improvement. I've personally had pushed my volts to 1.25 to get 1000/1375 stable in the past. My benches were about the same as 945/1345.

Lately I've been chilling on stock and it feels all the same anyway.

To be fair this really doesn't mean a thing. 5xxx series cards do not artifact or crash with unstable clocks in many stability tests. BFBC2 however is a great test of stable clocks.. will lock up/crash/corrupt the instant you load in.

gogo 8 month old thread!

I hear from everyone that its ok to CrossfireX different retailers versions of the card, but I also here over and over about issues with people who have tried.

I've been on the 10.5's and they have been quite good actually.
Far from perfect but 16/18 of my games play with no issue.
