Will 2 5770's in crossfire 16/16 out preform 1 5850 @ 1920x1080?

Yes. In many cases, they'll out perform a 5870 as well. The scaling on these things has proven to be amazing.
There are a few games where the 5850 is better by a tiny amount, but it nearly all the games the 5770 CF is better and in some cases better than a 5870.
ahh cool cool Im just bored of my 5850 and I have never ran crossfire before. Will I also see a boost in my benching score, I currently get 21,300 3dm06.

edit..
Soo do you guys recon selling my 5850 now whilst there is 0 in stock anywhere in the uk and with such high demand, for a small profit and buying 2 of these badboys would be worth it
Yeah this question has been bugging me aswell, since i get paid soon so its will be decision time.

Yeah same here, Id love to have 2 5850's in crossfire but at my res would be overkill and I dont fancy spending another £250 on another 5850. When In a few months when 5850's are back in stock or w.e Sell them at a major loss

why not wait for the prices to go down after Xmas for the 5850's and just buy a second 5850 when you need the extra horse power, because when you need that extra horse power crossfire 5850's will be beating the crossfire 5770's. Also by the time you need the extra horsepower the prices (1 year from now) will be dramatically cheaper for the 5850's dontcha think?

Good question is what resolution do you play at?
now m wondering how much u plan on selling this

WOW!! glad i just checked

5850's in stock :O UK - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/175124

first post^^^, and i cba waiting for more 5850's to come in stock, the games I play that would be mega overkill And the money saved from buying another 5850 could go towards my new cpu upgrade and some other crap lol

Ah right well I just ordered my 5850 from overclockers.co.uk, they had 10+ in stock today.

I play at the same resolution. I do plan to buy a second 5850 some time next year if I really need to. I myself am looking at getting a Intel Q9550 cpu at some point when quads are really required.

Tbh I did want to get 2x5770's initially like you are contemplating now, but thought in the long run lets say a game like Crysis 2 or a game made from that new Unigine "heaven" dx11 engine, buying a 2nd 5850 for Crossfire would be a better choice considering their power over the 5770's.

The 256-bit memory interface for the 5850 is higher, but it seems the 5770's 128-bit doesn't slow it down too much.

I do wonder if they would release a 256-bit interface version of the 5770's? now that would be killa.

but to your original question:

If you play let's say Dragon Age: Origins, I have seen that 2x 5770's do better than 1x 5850 @ 1920x1200.

fair enough
im surprised ive had no trouble with ebuyer except for never finding stuff i realy want

yh i plan on going tri 5770 i dont see any reason to get 5870 or 5850 anymore since the performance of the 5770 in cf are amazing

Yeah, plus 5770 crossfire £250, 5850 crossfire £500 humm Id rather save £250 thanks
what game cant you max at your resolution with your current 5850?

because tbh you wouldn't need to buy a 2nd 5850 for a long while yet, and by then I bet that the 5850's will have gone down considerably to around £170, by which time you will probably have enough to buy a 2nd, and overtake the performance the 2x 5770's initially gave you.
