5870 Limited to 900/1300 in Catalyst

777 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Futan
This is the first time I've used Catalyst. It only lets me OC to 900 (from 850) and 1300 mem (from 1200). What app can I use to go higher than that?

You have to flash the bios to either Asus or MSI

Heres how

The stock Diamond bios limits the OC to 900/1300.

After you flash to Asus the limit is raised to 1200/1400 I do believe.
Then use MSI Afterburner to OC.

I'll pass at least for the time being. I bookmarked the link for when I'm ready to do this. Thank you.

Is overclocking it even to 900Mhz a warranty voider as well?

If you use the latest MSI Afterburner you can adjust the MSIAfterBurner.cfg file using Notepad or something and change the EnableUnofficialOverclocking setting from 0 to 1 to go above the 900/1300 limitation.
