I curently only have 3 fans on my rad which are inside teh case and throwing air out of my case. Would i benifit from putting 3 more fans ontop of the rad? Kinda like sandwiching in the rad

You would definitely benefit from it (please note how I wrote the word "benefit").
Your waterloop's temperature will most likely drop by a few degrees Celsius.

I'm not sure which of the following options deliver a better cooling performance though:
- getting one triple radiator with 6 fans push/pull
or
- getting two triple radiators with only 3 fans attached to each radiator

Yeah a push-pull will help, the more of a load you have on your rad the more it will help.

Shrouds are always good to...How To: Make any Sized shroud in 2 minutes - Overclock.net
A dual rad setup using the same airflow is highly ineffective

And here's some push, pull, push/pull with and without shroud comparative test results for you

I read the post but im still not quite sure what a shroud does. Is it just removing the fan from the housing?

I'm pretty the more surface area you have, the better your temps. So 2 radiators will always be better than one. 3 more fans on one radiator will provide negligible gains compared to adding another radiator.

No. It pretty much provides an inch or so of space to improve airflow towards the center. You know how a fan has the bearing and electrical junk all in the middle? There's no airflow there. So lifting it off the rad will let the blades of the fan cover more surface area (ie, the part of the rad that is directly underneath the middle of the fan).

What fans?

I'm assuming that your rad is a RX360. They don't need much fan power. If your fans are already decent, then you wont see that much benefit. A few degrees at most.

Shrouds work by elevating the fan above the rad, eliminating the dead spot directly below the fan motor hub. They're cheap, and they work well.
A shroud reduces a fan's dead spot (motor area) increasing the rad area used. it also allows the flow to be more linear, reduces airflow restriction and noise.

You just gut some fans and put them between the rad and your fans. It sets the fans a little further off the rad and helps close the dead spot in the middle of the fans airflow. It makes the air flow more evenly across your rad surface and that helps temp's. Even gutted 120x25mm fans will help.

You should get a 10-20% or so gain from using shrouds. Really its about the cheapest few C you can get in WC'ing. Now if your already massively over-radded it wont help that much, but it will make your rad as efficient as possible.

I did this shroud testing on a 480 GTX with only a 320W load on it, you can see the gain with shrouds and the temp's with push only, pull only and using a push-pull with and with-out shrouds.Part-1-480 GTX-Temps W & W/O Shrouds

I have a XSPC rad and have 3 of these fans http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-011-_-Product

I am thinking of getting 3 more. The current fans are iniste the case.

I only have one loop to my cpu. I'm thinking of getting my gpu cooled but not anytime soon.

I also wouldn't be able to do the shroud thing on the fans i already have installed since space is an issue. I barely have enough room to close the ram clips.

Keep the three fans but flip them so they suck/push the cool room air through the radiator.

push pul works great but. shrouds on one side work better
This is wt i have. The blue rectangles are where i want to mount 3 more fans. An air would be pushed from inside the case out ( in the direction of the red arrows. The otehr blue arrows are how i currently have my other fans

Push pull would work better and you should see a drop in temps, but also while you are at it set it up so that air is being pulled INTO your case, not pulled from your case, as that is hot air from your case cooling your rad, your temps should reduce just by moving those fans outside the case pushing air into your case.
So it would be better if i set my fans so they pull air in from the top? Should i leave the rear fan as it is pushing air out. What about my front and bottom fans. what would be a good set up for those

I am sure he's thankful that I corrected his orthographical error. And no, that was not a grammatical fault. Nope, my ego doesn't grow larger if I help out people who apparently need assistance with their orthography.
If you look around on OCN, you come across way too many grammatical and orthographical errors in nearly every other post and it's just horrible to read. Us humans we should strive for perfection in everything we do. Besides, our language (written or oral) is what sets us apart from other animals.
If by "berate" you mean "reprimand", then you're wrong because I didn't do that. I merely gave him a suggestion on how the word is correctly written.
Thank you for taking the time and attempting to answer my question about the radiators though.

"Us humans we should strive for perfection in everything we do."

Before adding letters in red and stressing the errors with additional text, maybe you should start capitalising the first letter of the first word in sentences in more or less every single post you did, aside from this thread's posts which you obviously polished.

I felt the need to stress your imperfections, but I don't pretend to write or speak perfect english myself. Remember that, although the mandatory language on this board, English is not everyone's native language and spelling mistakes will happen.

English is not my native language either, and you're completely right. But some people are visual learners, so if all they see is themselves and others constantly misspelling words, then of course that's what their brain is going to pick up and it will remain a vicious circle.
I have a dream. I dream that one day, thanks to people who constantly remind others of their spelling errors, we are going to live in a spelling-error-free world.
