I recently tried upgrading to a fx 6350 CPU with my 990fxa-ud3 motherboard every few minuets the computer will either reboot or freeze for some time then will reboot on its own. Any ideas?

Might try clearing/resetting the BIOS.
Unplug the power cord and disable the battery that is backup for the BIOS.
Your motherboard manual might offer more detail for clearing/resetting the BIOS.
