64 bit OS's Still buggy?

Looking into installing 64 bit windows since my friend handed me 4 sticks of 1gb 800 mhz patriot to try it out... And since my xp right now only detects 3.25 (not to say that isn't great) i wanna get on being able to take full advantage of them. Last time i remember though 64 bit vista was buggy as hell. Has this been remedied? I think they haven't even given it an sp1 yet, is that right?

Sp1 is out and sp2 is on its way. I think, it still isn't totally stable at least, on my system.
I have no problems with x64 and i have had it for a while now. Im not sure all the things people have problems with but i love it. I have my 8 gigs of ram, and my 3.9ghz processor....things are good lol.
Vista 64 is great! Vista might have gotten off to a bad start with imcompatibilities and bad press but its been spit shined and polished and is a very solid OS. The drivers are mature as well. Most of the problems people experience today are a result of the "PEBKAC" error. I say go for it!

Just curious. Will just about all games run on Vista 64 with no problems and do you have to do anything different for game installs? Been thinking about switching myself.

All the games I ran on XP run flawlessly on my Vista64. The games install just like normal.

Unless the games are 16-bit, they will run on x64 Vista.
Vista x64 is solid, no probs what so ever. Runs crysis awsome.
Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP1 is not "buggy as hell" and I had encountered no problems using it.
never had a problem...

I'd say go for it! I did dual boot vista 32-bit and 64-bit, cuz I was nervous of all the compatibility problems and unstable problems I heard of, but idk it was like that before SP1, but I SP1, and it runs great, so I just deleted 32-bit. And I'm long 64-bit!
