I had a friend send me and an NVIDIA 6800 Series OEM PCI Express for free
. The problem is that since it's an OEM there are no manufacturer markings at all. I'm pretty sure it's a 6800GTO because RivaTuner detects the default memory and core clock frequencies at 350/900. According to NVIDIA's website, these are the default speeds for the 6800GTO. Does anyone know how to determine how many pipes are unlocked? I am just trying to make sure what I've got before I start to OC it. The GTO has 12 and GT has 16. If anyone has any other ideas how to determine which card this is, I would greatly appreciate it.

Uh, Nvidia doesn't make a GTO card, I belive what your refering to is a 6800GS card. They can't unlock pipes in the PCIe version, but can in the AGP version (different core's)

The clocks are WAAAYYYY too slow to be a GS. It sounds like a 6800 NU, or XT.

Apparently this card came out of a Dell
so I'm not sure if this card was sold to the public or just to OEM's. Thanks for the replies so far.

wow... I have never seen that, nice link btw, I will have to save that one.. Humm.. Sounds like the GTO then, the XT runs at 700MHz on the memory, so it isn't that.

the 6800 gto is an oem card... the first screen you see when you open rivatuner should tell you how many pipelines and shaders are enabled

I am about 99.9% sure it's a GTO....thanks for the replies. I found another forum that said Dell 6800GTO's are Ultra's that didn't make the cut. They just cut out the 4 pipes and lowered the frequencies. Thanks for the quick replies. I just checked RivaTuner again and it shows on the front page it has 12 pipes.......I'm new to RivaTuner. Thanks for all your help. Reps

That's exactly what it looks like. Can't believe it doesn't have any vents in second slot it takes up to help with cooling.....this thing runs hot as HELL. Idles at about 76C, but I've got a Zalman VF700-CU on the way and some Arctic Silver. Got to have something to cool this thing down before I start to OC it.
