If you are planning on sticking with AGP I think that's the highest you can go. If you have money to blow, why not. Go for it.

Go for the 7800GS if you could afford it over the 6800 Ultra. It should be more effecient cause it's newer technology.

Ya thats the best AGP card out right now.The 7800GS is meant to replace the 6800 Ultra just like the 6800GS is meant to replace the 6800GT.Go for it dude,as long as you have the money,if you don't have that kind of money to really spend then don't do it.Hope that helps

whoa, upgrading from a 6800ultra to a 7800gs? performance wise yes you'd see a difference (really only marginal, and only at high resolution with aa/ax turned up) but wether or not its worth it? probably not, wait for the next gen to come out before it'll be worth your while (unless you only have agp... in that case the 7800gs is as high as you can go, but still, wait a bit for prices to come down, the 6800ultra is still a decent card for now).

unless you're filthy rich

Wasnt there a thread similar to this tonight as well? Oh well. Well yeah, the 7800 pretty much owns the last gen card. Id definately go for that.

it wont be worth it as an upgrade. it is meant to replace the 6800 series but that only means it is supposed to meet or exceed slightly in performance, not offer a performance increase worthy of $250+.
