Hey,

I`m thinking about getting a second 6800GS for SLi in a few weeks once the new G71 cores are released [ by then the prices should have dropped ] but I was wondering if there is any point.

I`m saving some money to get a totaly new system in a few months [ 3-5 months ] when the new AMD chips are released so I`m not looking to do alot to my current system as it will just be a waste of money.

Is two 6800GS cards in SLi going to give me decent performance for the money or am I just as well waiting and saving the £130+ for the new system ?

I'd reccomend staying with 1 6800GS, especialy if it's not OCed. Better to have decent performance now and great performance later than to have good performance now and okay performance later.

well it all depends on what you want. adding a second card now will allow you to run your games at higher resolutions w/ more eyecandy turned on now and they will also migrate over to your new system so it wouldn't really be a waste of money. if you don't get a second card now I would suggest you wait until vista and dx10 come out before buying a new card

If you're talking 3-5 months... a single 6800 will do you well 'till then. If longer, then get it. I'm in heaven since I got my second.

Greedy people! Your fine with one 6800GS for sure, I wouldn't double. Just hold off for sure!
