well......basically....x800 gto is better than the x1600xt in pure power BUT will not support h264 decoding or SM3 or HDR. 6800GS i know is mor epowerful than gto. but as said you can might as well wait for an 7800GS. they support latest technology and powerful

unless you're planning on getting an x800gto2 and unlocking it then its probably a better idea to get a 6800gs. infact even if you're planning on unlocking/overclocking it, its probably a better idea to get the 6800gs anyways.

The 6800gs has better shaders...go with it, or even better the 7800gs.

His motherboard is PCI-E so no 7800GS for him.

Good news is you can get an X800GTO2, unlock it and overclock it to X850XTPE speeds. If you really care about SM3.0 tho go for the 6800GS.

i would say gs but my budget was ultimately 120 pounds and that was a gto....6800gs at that time was 180 pounds. iw ould reccomend 6800gs but see benchamrks if spenidng extra 60 pounds is worth the extra performace you get in a 7800gs
