You say "screens" meaning more than one???
If so, I'd try with just one screen connected!
bump!

I'm a NVidia user, and don't know AMD/ATI

If it takes more than 10minutes you may have a problem to troubleshoot.

I had this problem with my HD5970 for a time.. Install drivers, and the screen would blank out for detection, then not reinitialize the screen.. To bypass this, I would VNC in from my laptop and push a reboot.

To resolve this issue, I had to do a lengthy, manual full removal of anything related to drivers for ATI.. I had to make sure both GPUs were installed as "Standard VGA Adapter", which only happens when you have uninstalled all previous iterations of catalyst, AND blocked Windows from searching for the Radeon driver. Reboot, making sure you're using the "Standard VGA Adapter" driver, you will have an ugly, low res desktop. Then try installing the latest catalyst set.
