ok so i want to know how to use 6xAA in Counter Strike:Source. It only lets me go up to 4x AA in game and the Nvidia control panel only lets me force 2x 4x and 8x (im thinking 8 might be too much) so im wondering if i can edit an config file or something to make 6x AA (i would just bump up the rez but my monitor sucks)
So please help

Your graphics card can handle 8x AA, type in "cl_showfps 1" without the quotes in the console when playing. Force 8x AA in the nVidia control panel and check to make sure the game runs above 60fps.

nVidia cards cannot use over 4x AA in Source games, ATI can use up to 8x AA.

I dont think its an issue of having enough power, its just not a hardware option. Similar to AA and HDR with Nvidia.

That is due to the game, in HL2 you can use HDR and AA with nvidia cards.

My 7800GTX SLI has the option to use 6x AA in CS:S/hl2/episode 1, so i dunno why yours wouldn't...
