Yo guys... I accidentally forgot to plugin my fan on my megahalems and it cause the cpu to hit 70 degrees, you think it could've f'ed it up at all? It was probably that hot for like 20 minutes. I found out when I touched the heatsink and it was hot as hell...

No, they have to pass my abuse test, they throttle down when they overheat, Ie they are idiot proof. (Almost)

70C? Thats absolutely nothing... I ran 95C for 24 hours while stability testing (IntelBurn's temps are insane). It takes alot to damage a processor.

I ran an intel burn test on my Pentium E2200, with my CPU fan unplugged on my $22 Masscool cooler, and it never went above 144F (62*C)

Why would you unplug the cpu fan while stress testing?

Just because the fan wasn't plugged in doesn't stop the heatsink from working. I really doubt it got to 70 degrees idle.

I swear it did, I did have like 50 different google chrome tabs open though.
But its good to know that no damage was done. Thanks for the info guys, +rep.

Yes you should be fine, no harm done. My Q9550 reached 70 in Fallout 3 because of bad TIM and it's still running perfectly fine. It would only take damage from it if you run it at 70C for a long period.
