Hmm if you could squeeze a 5770 in there it would make a considerable difference in gaming performance, and you'll be able to play at 1600 X 1200 and even 1920 X 1080.

CPU choice is good slip that triple up to 3.2Ghz-3.5Ghz if you can with a little OC.

I'd get a used graphics card from the OCN marketplace instead of that 5570 if that's an option.

Yeah, it looks really good, but the 5570 won't be able to do any gaming at 1920x1080 (atleast for modern games). If you could really squeze in that extra $50, you could get a 5770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102898&cm_re=ati-_-14-102-898-_-Product and games would be a lot more playable. I would just do something more than a 5570.

Something like this would be able to game much better than the 5570, despite not having DX11 (which shouldn't make a difference to its poor performance anyway).

It might be worth getting a power supply as well...

With these combos, price would still be around $700, but you get a bump in CPU speed and a better GPU.

That looks quite adequate, only sinch is the x3 is out of stock.
How bout this x4 640 + Biostar 870 combo

The RAM is a good choice but if you want cheaper get this

If you're a student by chance you can get Windows 7 Pro right now for $30 USD. Though it's only the upgrade, there are ways around that.

I would also say go with a different PSU. Maybe an Antec Earthwatts or a Corsair Builder Series. You don't wanna cheap out on the PSU, it'll bite you in the rear realll quick.

Buy a used 5770 or 460. You'll actually be able to play games at their max settings instead of medium.
