720p/1080p breakdown?

i suppose they are resolutions, 1080 being the better, but what would i be able to watch 720p/1080p movies on my 22" acer x223?

720p yes, 1080p no. 1080p is 1920x1080, which your screen can't display.

You shrink it down...
