I think the question they are getting at is should they get a new motherboard that has PCIe or throw more money into something that's quickly going out of style? This is what I'm wrestling with right now. I'm still paying off this computer though, so it's going to wait, no matter I decide to do.
dude heres the deal the 7800gs 16 pipelines its just like a 6800gt ... and all but guess what 6800gt normal is 350/1ghz while the 7800gs is 375/1.2ghz ... the 6800gt can only oc to 400/1.1 normally but the 7800gs can oc to 460/1.35 barely getting hot... its been up to 480/1.4ghz on stock cooling.. i believe that if you were to have a wc set up 7800gs all the way. cuz no doubt it can go to 500/1.5 easily... but other than that its just like jumping a 1 foot wide stream... wow you are so much further than you were befor but if it was say a fx5200 to a 7800gs it would be like 1000000000000000000000 miles from were you started out.. but if you have the cash no doubt buy it by all meens.
