7800gt 512mb

well this has made my choice even harder on what to purchase, this card is only 30 bucks more (aussie dollars) than the cheapest xfx 7800gt.

maybe sli 7800gt 512mb vid cards could be the go.

Dont buy any 7800s now, 7900 is right around the corner and the 7800s (GT and GTX) have been discontinued, in fact 7900 is launching in 2 days and the 7900GT outperforms the 7800GTX 512 for about as much as a 7800GT!!

They're out now anyways, 7900GT $299 on newegg, I told ya

it beats the 7800GTX in every benchmark as well. Glad I was able to help you out mate.

Yes, but about the 7800gt 512, I don't know what to think. Why would they release that near the same time as the 7900 series?

To add to the little dilema, are you better off with sli 7800gt 512mb or for similar price 7900gt 256mb, what about future, will the extra memory be the go in say 6 months time? Nvidia didnt release the 512 card, Gainward has relaeased it on their own.

7900GT is a much better idea, slapping 512MB of RAM didnt help the X800XL back in the day (my 256MB XL actually beat the 512MB XL in some benchmarks LOL) and it certainly wont help the 7800GT, maybe Gainward knew they got discontinued and had twice as much left over RAM as they did G70 cores! LMAO!

Not many in stock for another 2 weeks here though, looks like I have to wait to finish this new rig then.
