I guess I need to replace my GPU HSF and was wondering what everyone's opinions are on the top 3 coolers I see on these forums. They are the Zalman VF-900, Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5, and the Arctic Cooling Accelero X1.

Does anyone know of a comparison chart of these coolers? If so, could you link it?

The Silencer seems good b/c of the exhaust out of the case, but both of the others still might out-do it on cooling and maybe a bit higher case temps...

I need help, I am indecisive!!

I have the VF-900 and it is great. I also owned Zalman's VF-700CU and it too was great. High quality build and great cooling.

I prefer the accelero x1 over the vf-900 but thats just my opinion. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186001

VF900 i not the best. Sytrin formula v1 plus is better and i think the accelro beat it also. Though looks wise the VF900 is better

My VF900 can keep my 9800XT at 35C (no v mod, no oc). I really need a voltmeter.

I read somewhere that the Accelero requires the card to be modified a bit to get it seated and working correctly on a 7800. Is this correct? If so is it difficult?

Get the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5, it cools great, easy to install and it acutally blows the hot air out of the back of the case!

Get the Kuformula VF1 Plus. It outperforms all of the coolers you are talking about. Also I am almost positive it fits all cards that are currently out except maybe the new ati x1950. If you are thinking about SLI then you might not want to go with this cooler because it is unlikely that the cooler is thin enough to be used for SLI.
well i think I'm gonna go with the Accelero X1, as it seems to have the best cooloing to sound level ratio. I would probably get the VF900 if it cooled a bit better, but it doesn't quite cut it there. I want to try and break 500Mhz

Well I just got around to installing my Accelero X1 cooler and, it doesn't fit! It appears that when XFX made the card they decided to make it about 1/2" shorter than everyone else's version of the 7800GT, making the DVI connector interfere with the card seating properly. At this point they have lost my business but that still doesn't help my current situation.

Does/has anyone owned an XFX brand 7800GT and if so, what type of aftermarket cooling did you use? I'm hesitating getting the Zalman VF-900 b/c it's a pain in the ass to clean the dust out of that 'flower' design, but I think it might be my only choice at this point. Any know of other working options?

PS. I'm not returning the Accelero X1, so I may get bold one day and try to file off enough to make it work.
