7900GS SLI vs 7950GT 256mb

I was offered a trade, 2x 7900GS for my 7950GT...after a visit to google...most results turned out saying it would be a good deal to do so...but I just wanted some expert opinions.

Also, my mobo isn't SLI, so I was wondering how is the Asus A8N-SLI SE, since thats the only SLI mobo I can get.

I would say go for it - the 7900GS uses the same core as the 7950GT so there can't be that many differences

Yeah, I'm liking the idea more and more...I hear they overclock like madd!

Hows the Asus A8N-SLI SE mobo? I can't find any reviews....they're all for the deluxe version.

And if you wanted to volt mod both cards you could hit 700/1800mhz easy on the clocks. Then they would really rape your old card.

I'm not sure on that one in paticular but I BELIEVE thats a OEM version.

SE is usually the ones rebranded as HP... COmpaq..... (or so I've heard)

But that deal is great

TAKE IT

do you know this person??? just curious why someone would make that trade. anywho i would make that trade for sure
No, SE just means its cut down.

It comes with all the stuff, but without some of the fluffy extras.

I've always heard that the Asus A8N-SLI series are all very good, solid motherboards so I would say its time to upgrade

they probably want to SLI the GT... and don't want to buy 2 new cards...

A8N-SLI's from the SE to the Premium... the only real difference is the high end boards have dual gigabit lan, secondary raid controllers, 7.1 audio and different heatsinks... the later revisions don't have the switch card for SLI...

SE

Deluxe

Premium

I have two systems on my lan with the deluxe and the premium mobos... and they are awesome... have also build a few budget SLI rigs with the SE and it's just as awesome...
