Looks good, good brand, everythings good.

When you buy RAM in future, just make sure it is from a good brand, and the frequency is really high (make sure it is also supported by your board as well).
RAM is fine. 8GB is overkill, but having 8GB myself I tend to enjoy the bragging rights.
Nice price too, I only wish DDR3 would drop faster.

Nothing is overkill on a computer, especially in these forums

Nice set of ram there and if compatible with your mobo, then i would say, go for it. I love my 8 GB ram, does everything I need it to do and is never exceeded. I find it overly irritating when the pc lags because ram usage is at 100%. With 8 GB that never happens (unless you do it on purpose)

why not put 5 bucks on top and get this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166 ?
i got 20 gbs of those sticks worked thru, not one had an issue
better timings then the one your looking at would be the reason im bringing it up in the first place, and a great cheap price as well.

The timings are terrible on those. Spend the extra $8 per 2x2Gb kit and get these 1066 G.Skill. besides these have free shipping, so the cost difference is a little less:

Or get these and up the voltage to tighten the timings? Link.

Or do what Eric said as you know the timings will work?
The GSkill PiBlacks are on sale right now at the same speed but at timings of 4-4-4-12 at the egg for 45.+-

a like the voltage on those, but i wouldn't buy those for ocing... pointless just pay the extra 8 bucks for heat spreaders, guaranteed high speeds and everything else.

I run 8GB of the DDR2-800 kit. Wonderful stuff. I actually have bought 3 sets of the stuff, one is sitting waiting to go into a system. They changed the design on the heatspreaders a bit, it doesn't look quite like the picture anymore, but the color is the same.

To those of you who say it's overkill, I've used 6GB before and usually use about 3-4GB.
i dont think 8gb is overkill.......ive mounted 7.5gb ISOs before & had the space for them to go straight into the system RAM just like an SSD, so there are times where 8gb is handy......& those instances will only get more frequent, not less....

gskill are great..... they have a ''no quibble'' RMA service...

I am looking at these. If you do not intend to OC past their limit you are good to go...but if you need more headroom these will not push like some others.
