Hey guys so I bought my MSI 870A-G54 mobo with the advice from the clerk where I bought my parts because I wanted a budget build and he recommended it (yeah im an idiot).

I'm just wondering if a light o/c is still possible, I think I saw a thread saying that the mosfets weren't cooled and could fry it?

What processor are you using it with?

This motherboard and direct variants have the highest failure rate (with higher TDP processor) of the low end MSI boards I've seen. I recommend pursuing no OC and not using an aftermarket cooler (which not only completely removes VRM cooling but can risk a more immediate failure).

Plus an A70 is a poor choice on AMD platforms due to the mounting (blows upward only). Get a different cooler.
