8800 GTS Causing Sound Problems???

OK so I've been having this annoying problem for a while in World of Warcraft (& some other games) where the sound is all crackly and distorted, especially when turning around and moving. I've been trying to figure it out for a long time. I thought it might be my power supply, so I got a better one with many more amps, but that did nothing. Finally yesterday I figured out that when I took out my Geforce 8800 GTS and put in an old ATI card I don't have the sound problems at all. So apparently the 8800 GTS is causing the sound problems. ***?

the fact that the ATI card didn't create the problem leads me to believe it was the case. Id use driver sweeper to remove both your audio and nvidia drivers and then reinstall both to their lasted from scratch
Do you have a nvidia 680i chipset? If so I'd suggest you get a motherboard firmware update. Apparently they did have some issues with video card/sound card interference.
I've already tried fresh installs of multiple drivers on Windows 7 and on XP. I know drivers aren't the problem. And I don't have an nvidia 680i chipset but a 650i. Would that chipset also have the problem?
I would still check if your motherboard has a BIOS update available. It could help
Alright I have an ASUS P5N-E SLI and it already does have the latest BIOS (rev. 1404.)
Problem with using data from the GFX card to render 3D sound?
It does seem like a graphics card problem though it could also be the sound card....

Yea that sounds right but how would I fix that?

Fill in your system specs, first of all.

Secondly, the problem could be the card, or it could be the card's drivers, since you changed drivers at the same time as you changed cards, right?

I have a similar issue right now myself with my rig, but it only occurs in Windows 7, and not on my XP install. It's not just happening in games either, I get it when I'm listening to music as well. Heck, it's even there when the Windows welcome sound plays.
