Just wondering what would be the ultimate limit for overclocking the 8800 GTS on stock cooling?

Just go until you artifact and then back down some.

Most seem to conk out at about 660/2100 ish

So try and aim for that. And if your system freezes

But you must be pushing it pretty damn hard if that happens.

i got mine to 631 and 2000 running at about 45C to 63C

3dmark06 score is 12904 on default

go look at my profile pics. i was only able to get the one that had my 626 core and the 2000 memory

You've got me interested but those pics do not show very much .. given your have been trying to break the 13K barrier (on a single GTS 320), there must be at least one 3DM06 ORB link which you can provide so as to compare

.. that will help a lot ... here's one to help out ..

I broke 12K with my 320 GTS and it took my CPU 3978 to do it, GFX @ 660/2100. Proof

gus i can only manage 320 and 1010 although i am running xp drivers they seem to crash if i go ant higher or i get a hang any ideas

try upgrading your drivers to 162.15 they are beta drivers but i have not had a problem with them

How are you almost getting 13k with 3.15 ghz and your gpu overclock? That doesn't seem right. I'm getting 11200 with my overclocks.

My card tops out around 625/2000.

In XP on older drivers, I was able to get 650/2050 or so. So, I don't know what the deal is on that.

Yea d3mig0d, i just saw you got 1134 with 650/1020. Good to know my numbers are right there.

Seems its' runs were not at 3.1 (3.5) and also using Custom settings ... so cannot be compared to others who run with real Default's

i have my my superclocked 640mb evga 8800gts at 665/2100, temps are 51 idle, 69 load, zero artifacts, 11,505 3dmark06

i got mine to {this is no joke} 685mhz core and 950 memory..

cant get the memory core higher thats the currant pain in my ass.low memcore..

but on the other 8800gts its 620 core 1100 memcore
