8800gt and 1920x1200

Should my gpu be able to handle this resolution in gaming? In dirt, when it gets busy on screen, and all settings on low I get wicked frame stutters to the point it makes the levels unplayable unless Im on clubman. It only happens whens there a lot of cars on screen, and this is single player.

Edit, forgot to mention, have reinstalled sound and gfx drivers with a driver cleaner in between, did not help.

Well from your frame stutters I'm guessing your cards VRAM is 512mb. You might wanna consider getting a card with 1GB of VRAM.

4850 and 9800GT would both be excellent choices (mid-high range cards)

It's going to be hard for a single GT to be able to push many games at that high a resolution. Add another for SLi, or get a faster single card.

Wish I could sli, but I have a crossfire board. Would be so much cheaper than buying a better faster card. But thats what I figured was the problem, and thanks for the confirmation guys.

The 9800GT = 8800GT so that wouldn't help at all..
