and does anyone know if the brand "Galaxy" is a trusted brand name? cause i cant find anymore eVGA 8800GTS 512s here.

The 9800GTX of course, it has much faster memory than most 8800GTS models (1200 mhz vs 1,000 mhz).
9800 gtx is a little better than a 8800gts, it's just an upgraded version I guess you could say.

Galaxy is big European company I think. Thats all I know.
Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt the 9800GTX a rebranded 8800GTS 512? and the 9800GTX+ is the die shrink?

Not at all.

9800GTX has faster memory (again, 1,200 mhz vs 1,000 on the 8800GTS). Core wise they clock about the same.

GTX+ is just a die shrink, and should run cooler, and allow for better overclocking.

my friend got 2 9800GTX in SLi, both run at about 50C while gaming. which is pretty good. so ya, im just gonna stick with my 8800. so i just need to know if Galaxy is a trusted brand.
Galaxy is a VERY good brand, i have had a galaxy 8800GT myself, never had problems.

Galaxy is fine, also most 8800GTS 512's can OC to 9800GTX speeds
9800GTX+ OC a bit higher than 8800GTS 512 but depending on the price. Get the 9800GTX+ if the price is about the same.

The 9800gtx is pretty much just an overclocked 8800gts 512. Galaxy, i havent heard much about them, but brand shoudnt really matter too much since they are probably all refference boards so they are all the same. Since you already have a 8800gts, just buy one more. You could always OC them to 9800GTX speeds (Which arent even that much higher, tbh). If you cant find one new, get one off OCN!
