hi..

i got a small problem that i need to clear before i by a 8800GTS..

ok here goes ..

i own a 8800GTS the memory clock speed on the one i own is 1.8GHZ

the one i'm going to by is 1.6GHZ memory clok..what i wont to know is will the two cards work in sli..

why wouldnt you buy the same card...

and as for your question you would have to downclock your 1.8ghz to 1.6ghz for them to work in sli

Plus they will have to have the same build.

SLI is a fragile thing, i've heard of storys with one card having a standard desing pcb whil the other had a manufactures desing.

And it was unstable as hell

just wont to go sli..

this is why i come here for help..so i now know.

SLI will work. However the drivers will downclock the XFX card to match the speeds of the PNY. And no, they will not have to be the same manufacturer. I ran an eVga and an XFX 7600GT in SLI for almost 4 months, and had no problems.
