My friend wants to get a new computer, his budget is around $900CAD.

He only needs the tower.

Any suggestions?

For gaming? I'll put something together but it would be nice to know what exactly he's going to be using it for.

Yea, for gaming but not super hardcore.
Like 24/7.

Btw, hes going to do store pickup, so shipping won't cost anything.

We will need more info.

Does he have any fanboy preferences (Intel vs AMD, Nvidia vs ATI, etc)

Is he heavy into gaming? (More money spent on GPU rather than if he used it mainly for internet etc)

Does he need lots of storage (Would a 320gb do or does need need a terabyte or two for all his movies etc?)

Does form factor matter? (Is he looking for a small micro atx setup or a normal sized tower)

Is he audiophile? (Aftermarket soundcard versus using onboard sound)

Do you need a OS as well, or do you have access to MSDN or equivalent for a key

Is it going to be overclocked at all? (Better fans / heatsinks)

It would help if we knew what the computer is being used for, we could make better builds for that.

Gaming? Or more of a multitasking kind of computer?

Just some occasional gaming, nothing hardcore like Crysis or something.

Does he need lots of storage (Would a 320gb do or does need need a terabyte or two for all his movies etc?)

320GB would do just great.

Size doesn't matter

Nope.

No overclocking, but just get it anyways, since in the since can get pretty hot.
